Nice to meet you! Always excited to meet younger people in the hobby! I’ve also kept fish since childhood. Do you have a favorite variant of the arrowana?WolfchildLaine wrote: ↑Thu Oct 14, 2021 8:07 pm Hello, I have been in this club for three years now and it has been a very cool journey so far. I own 7 fish tanks one of which includes a 55 with a fire mouth in it. I have five yo-yo loaches and I like to talk a lot about fish to people as well as get advice. I am a young fish keeper and have been doing it since I was a little kid. My favorite fish is an Asian Arowana.

Hello! My name is Connie.
New to the hobby. Rotkeil Severum are fast becoming my favorite. Also looking forward to learning about collecting in our nearby waterways.

Hey Folks! Been awhile since we've all saw each other. Been missing the swap meet and auctions unfortunately. Well let's just say life happened (divorce) so my tanks have been down for awile. I sure miss my Red Terrors I got from Jeremy with the Columbus club. I'll be back soon tho. I now have a house ready to for a few repairs and move in! I can almost hear them sponge filters running!
I looked to see how to pay my dues but the setup was a bit confusing. I'd like to pay at a monthly meeting but there's none posted past February 2022. Any help in this matter is appreciated.

Hello. I wrote a really long intro and I guess it timed out because it disappeared and sent me back to the login page. I teach HS science to kids with behavior problems. I have 6 tanks there and a bunch at home. I am fond of guppies as I raised them with my dad when I was a kid. I am fascinated by neocardina shrimp and have 3 tanks of them (so far). I really love having a community tank and the variety of fish you can have. I am excited about learning about new (to me) fish and having a more sophisticated tank than just a community tank
Re: Welcome! Say Hello. Activate your account.
Greetings! I just moved to Cincinnati about three weeks ago (from Connecticut) and registered on the forums today, and will officially join GCAS in the next day or two. Here is my intro...
I've been completely out of the hobby for about the last 8 years or so, but before that I was pretty avid for a dozen or so years, with anywhere from 1 to 5 tanks running at any given time. I've never dabbled in saltwater, but on the freshwater side I've had a bunch of different sorts of tanks. I've done a various morphs of general freshwater community tanks, I've done dedicated killifish tanks, for a while I had an all-native North American tank, I had a dwarf puffer (pea puffer) tank, for a while had a mostly-peaceful female betta harem tank. I think that covers it for fish. Oh and a brackish tank for a while. Then I became very interested in inverts and so have kept a variety of neos (red cherry, blue pearl, snowball), ghost shrimp, usually eventually have at least one amano in every tank I run, I've had bamboo shrimp, several dwarf cray species including CPO's, one larger cray (didn't enjoy that... he destroyed everything!), red claw crabs, and most of the usual snail species (different color ramshorns, a variety of nerites, MTS in all my sand-bottom tanks).
So I'm really excited to be getting back into the hobby. I may pelt you all with lots of questions early on... especially when it comes to hardware. When I was last doing this, LED lighting was virtually non-existent, I don't recall there being such a thing as "low-iron glass," and who knows what else new has emerged that I haven't even heard of yet.
Will share a few of my favorite photos of my fish/inverts from years past.
Sunday evenings are very hit-or-miss for me so not sure how often I will make the monthly meetings. But certainly am looking forward to getting to know all of you and hearing about what sorts of interesting tanks you are running.

Hello all,
I've been out of the hobby for almost 10 years. I mostly enjoy the African Cichlids mbuna. I once had a total of 17 tanks with 9 up and running. Then I had to move a couple of times, and sold everything because I couldn't take the tanks with me. I own a house now, and have decide I would love to get a 55 or 75 gallon tank up and running with some mbunas. I don't plan on having loads of tanks to start, and mostly just want a show tank. I really got into fish when I worked at Petsmart for over 3 years. That's how I found out about mbunas, and what it takes to keep them. I've own many different types of fish, but none compared to the personality of the mbuans. I'm hoping to have a tank with Demasoni, and yellow labs or Saulosi with a few other types in groups of 4 or 6. Saulosi were my favorites as both the male and females have awesome colors. Anyway that's a little bit about me.

Hello,
Can non-members still see the trade forum? In the past that was the case. But I can’t see it

Hi,
Live in the Dayton/Centerville area.
I'm not "new". I was here years ago when I was active duty, but I then moved to Florida, then to New York. Came back a few years ago, but haven't been active with fish due to limited space. Did go to a few auctions.
I don't think my old login works, so I re-made it. Might be because you guys have a new host for the forum or my account was deleted due to inactivity.
Anyway, hope to be a little more active next year. I did join, but I'm still in the process of setting up my fish room. Moved again. Starting slow... I usually mess up by going to aggressive because I know I'll be moving. I know I'll be here at this house longer, so I can take my time and be more deliberate.
Primary interests are in: Plants, shrimp, plecos, corydoras and recently rasboras (nano tanks). Used to do the Discus thing but it was too time consuming raising juveniles.
